Thallus thin, filmy, effuse, medium to dark green; thalline warts absent; algal cells adjacent to the ascomata 4–8 (–10) µm diam. Ascomata solitary, ±superficial, subglobose, cylindrical or obconical, (0.08–) 0.11 (–0.16) mm diam., pale greenish yellow, epruinose; when dried the gaping ostiole collapsing and the sides of the ascomata deeply wrinkled. Ascomatal wall c. 20 µm thick at the apex, c. 15 µm thick at the base, pale yellowish. Periphyses not confirmed. Paraphyses long, but not reaching the ostiole, sparingly branched, tangled, 1.0–1.5 µm thick. Hymenium lax. Asci elongate-cylindrical, containing c. 50–100 ascospores, 75–90 × 8–13 µm, rather thick-walled laterally (1.5–2.0 µm); apex thicker, with a distinct plug, K/I+ pale blue. Ascospores oblong, not or scarcely constricted in the middle, 4–6 (–7) × 1.5–2.0 (–2.5) µm, not guttulate. CHEMISTRY: — |

Occurs on soil in a regenerating logging coupe in southern Tas.. Reported for the first time from Australia; also known from continental Europe and the British Isles. | ||
